Automower 220AC or 230ACX doesn't start when the cover is closed
A relatively common phenomenon in the Husqvarna Automower 220AC and Automower 230ACX models is that the robotic lawnmower suddenly won't start when you close the start cover.
This is usually caused when the micro switch, a switch that senses when the stop cover is closed or when the stop button is pressed, stops working.
Your Automower may simply not have registered that the cover is closed and won't start mowing.

Check that it's the microswitch that is faulty
With a few keystrokes, you can disable the microswitch via the menu and check if it is this that's causing the problem.
Do the following to check if the micro switch is faulty:
1. Go to the expert menu. To access the expert menu, go to "Settings", then press the following key combination: House + 4 + 3, in that order.
2. Then navigate to "Tools" and on to "Special Settings". Tick the "Bypass stop" option.
3. When you have made the choice "Bypass stop", start and pause the robot with the number 0. You can then go back to the main menu and press the 0 for the robot to start mowing.

If your Automower now starts mowing, you've confirmed that the microswitch is defective and should be replaced. Note that different model years have different types of microswitches. Below we have listed two different microswitches for different model years.
