How deep can the boundary wire be laid?
A common question we get is how deep or how far under the ground you can bury the boundary wire to your Husqvarna or Gardena robotic mower.
The boundary wire can be buried as deep as 30 cm underground without any problems.
In our experience, you can even take it a little deeper than that. But our recommendation is a maximum of 30 cm underground.
The 30cm guideline is true even when the wire is buried beneath paving stones or garden tiles.

This dimension is only an indication of how far down the boundary wire can be. Normally the cable is fixed above ground if you do the installation yourself.
If you hire us to carry out the installation, we will insert the cable 5-6 cm underground with a cable-laying machine.
It is usually an advantage to lay the cable underground, as this significantly reduces the risk of cutting the cable during edge trimming.
If the cable is laid above ground, the boundary wire will eventually sink and after 1-2 seasons you will no longer be able to see the cable above ground.
